Lyrics
You’ll either kiss the ring or you’ll surely kiss some other thing
Such is the dilemma you now face
The pure game of indignity,
Which will never release its grip on thee
No matter your remorse for the disgrace
Set concordance, build an opus
This matters not until we set your fate
We’ve glided north up carpeted stairs
Just to roll them up and restrict their wares
It’s your own damn fault that you arrived too late, so wait
You’re disallowed from everything until you bow and kiss that ring
Such is the new normal we’ve conceived
A novel mark of disrespect, a millstone draped around your neck
‘Til you capitulate and state our beliefs
Build a bridge, mend a fence
And remember those who have forgotten you
That’s just not our concern at all…
For certain legacies that have shaped our lives
Inevitably may prove to be forgotten
Once vivid memories of a paradise
Ultimately may prove to be verboten, oh-oh
So either kiss the ring or be doomed kiss some other thing
Such is the dilemma in our den
Do not dare mine for some dignity or you’ll “lose grip on reality”
And you’ll never be allowed inside these walls again, never again
Will we ever resolve and consort again? And if so, when?
